Penfold
Ernest Penfold is Danger Mouse's hamster assistant and best friend. Often mistaken for a mole (presumably on account of his spectacles), Penfold is actually a hamster.
He is code-named the Jigsaw because, at the first sign of danger, he falls to pieces.
Trivia
- He was voiced by Peter Hawkins in the pilot with a Welsh accent, also suggesting his role was offered to the latter before Terry Scott was cast for him.
- Before Terry Scott was selected for his role, Scott played Leatherhead in both the pilot episode and final series.
