Heinrich is Dr Von Goosewing's imaginary assistant in the television series 'Count Duckula'. The character 'Heinrich' never appears on screen in any of the episodes. However, Von Goosewing constantly refers and alludes to him so, as a result, there has been a lot of speculation about whether Heinrich had once really existed or not.

For a lot of people, Heinrich emphasizes Von Goosewing's mental instability because it shows that most of the time he is speaking to himself without realizing it. For example, in the episode 'Castle Duckula: Open to the Public', Von Goosewing asks Heinrich what he thinks of his "greatest ever invention" (which is really another one of his contraptions). Although there is clearly no one there beside him, Von Goosewing tells the imaginary Heinrich to calm down because he is too "enthusiastic".

One theory about Heinrich's existence is taken from the Marvel comic books. As discussed, all evidence within the show suggests 'Heinrich' may be just a figment of Von Goosewing's imagination. However, new information in these comic books indicates that Heinrich was actually Von Goosewing's former assistant who was always complaining about his paltry wages. Von Goosewing mentions that Heinrich threatened to resign but is still, supposedly, working with him. So the theory is that Heinrich might have quit, but Goosewing failed to realize it and believes he is still there.

Trivia:

  • There are no photos of Heinrich because he had never appeared on screen in any of the episodes.
  • Some evidence of Heinrich's existence may exist, such as the uneaten sandwich in the episode 'Incredible Shrinking Duck'.
  • Von Goosewing often blames his failures on Heinrich.
