History

A vampire hunter, like his later relative, Von Gosling used his diary to record the invention of an anti-vampire device disguised as a camera.

Appearance

In the episode Dear Diary (Season 1, Episode 17), Dr. Von Gosling appears similar to his grand nephew, but with clothing appropriate to the era. He also has more hair.

In the diary found by Dr. Von Goosewing, he describes how he used his Anti-Vampire Mechanism disguised as a camera to defeat Count Duckula the 14th. But unknown to Von Gosling, it merely scratched the Count.

Dr. Von Gosling also appears in the series opening, shooting wooden steak into a heart.

Trivia

• His encounter with Count Duckula the 14th is implied to be his first time facing a vampire as he knew little about them before entering the Ye Tooth & Jugular tavern. Though he was aware of the previous Count Duckula the 13th perished centuries before.
• His only known inventions are his Anti-Vampire Mechanism disguised as a camera, and a stake-firing blunderbuss very similar to one used by Von Goosewing. Seen in opening.
