Count Duckula Wiki:Rules

Count Duckula Wiki has rules that all users are required to follow. The rules have been broken down into six headings:

  • General rules
  • Content rules
  • Image rules
  • Blocking rules
  • Protection rules
  • Staff rules

General rules

  • No vandalism, including adding nonsense/gibberish and removing necessary content.
  • No spam, which is unwanted advertisements.
  • Do not create nor use additional accounts to evade any blocks. This will result in your accounts getting blocked indefinitely. This is not the case if you have moved accounts.
  • Do not violate the Manual of Style.
  • Do not remove "Notice", "Warning", and "Blocked" topics from your talk page. If you remove these topics while blocked, your talk page privileges will be taken away/revoked, and your block may be extended.
  • Do not add anything unrelated to this wiki's topic.
  • No edit warring, which this wiki defines as making counterproductive edits to win a content dispute against another user.
  • Do not add false information to articles nor attempt to spread it.
  • No fanon content.
  • No minimodding, which this wiki defines as posing as an administrator.
  • No plagiarism, which this wiki defines as reusing content from other wikis and websites such as Wikipedia without attribution. See the content rules for information on how to attribute content from other wikis.
  • Do not violate any of WikiOasis' global policies.
  • Do not join this wiki for the sole purpose of violating these rules.

Content rules

  • All content must not contain profanity or slurs. This applies to articles, files, talk pages, templates, and user pages.
  • It is strongly preferred that the text on pages is original and that information from other sources is put into your own words. This is to prevent plagiarism. If you decide to reuse text from another wiki, an example of how to attribute the text is below. Make sure to include links to the page, the revision history, and the wiki itself.
This page uses content from the (replace with name of wiki) page (replace with name of page). The revision history lists the authors. The text on Count Duckula Wiki and (replace with name of wiki) is licensed under the CC BY-SA 4.0 International licence.

Reusing content from Wikipedia

  • The text on Count Duckula Wiki and Wikipedia is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International Licence (CC BY-SA 4.0). However, this wiki does not allow entire Wikipedia articles to be reused. So, while reusing content from Wikipedia is allowed per this page, entire articles cannot be reused. There are two templates all users are required to use when creating an article and using content from Wikipedia: {{Wikipedia}} for articles that use content from an article of the same or a similar name, and {{Wikipedia2}} for articles that use content from an article of a different name. Make sure to use these templates correctly.

Image rules

Watermarked images are prohibited. This includes saving images from stock image websites such as Alamy, Getty Images, and Shutterstock and uploading them here. Make sure that the images uploaded have no watermarks and/or a Creative Commons licence. If the image has a Creative Commons licence, it can be reused.

Blocking rules

Blocks are only to be issued for violations of this wiki's rules. Blocks cannot be issued if at least one of the following reasons applies to a user:

  • The user has not joined this wiki
  • The user has only one edit
  • The user has not violated any rules

A exception is if the user is a sockpuppet. To request that a user be blocked or to have a pre-existing block be reviewed, you can add a topic to an administrator's talk page. Users who believe they have been unfairly blocked can add a topic to the Meta talk page of the administrator who blocked them.

Protection rules

The majority of this wiki's content will remain unprotected to encourage all users to edit. Content will only be protected if necessary, such as for the following reasons:

  • Excessive vandalism
  • Excessive spamming
  • Edit warring
  • High traffic
  • Protecting the proper display of this wiki, such as the main page and policy pages

To request that content be protected or to have a pre-existing protection level be reviewed, you can add a topic to an administrator's talk page.

Staff rules

Administrator rules

  • When a page has been vandalised, only protect it if it has been vandalised multiple times in a short period of time.
  • When warning a user about a rule they violated, add a "Warning" topic to the user's talk page.
    • In terms of minor instances or if it is the first time they have violated a rule, add a "Notice" topic to the user's talk page.
  • Only block users for violations of this wiki's rules.
