A lot of episodes begin with a short description of Castle Duckula by a narrator. The narrator tries to make the castle sound very horrifying and creepy but his tone is also sarcastic and humorous. For instance, the narrator in the episode '[[Castle Duckula: Open to the Public]]' describes the castle as "a place where the screams of tortured souls can be heard late into the night." The narrator goes on to say that Castle Duckula is not a place for the squeamish and faint-hearted because "the most dreadful thing" was about to take place. It turns out that this "most dreadful thing" was actually Nanny giving Duckula his bath with a huge scrubbing brush.
