Castle Duckula is the home of Count Duckula, his butler Igor and Nanny. The castle is located in Transylvania on top of a hill. It is capable of transporting its occupants to any location on earth.

The castle is an old building that has been the residence of the Duckula vampire family for generations. It was built to look very awe-inspiring and sinister. It has numerous rooms including a grand hallway, a cellar with dungeons, a kitchen, a dining room, a laboratory, a maze, an attic and even a lumber room.

A lot of episodes begin with a short description of Castle Duckula by a narrator. The narrator tries to make the castle sound very horrifying and creepy but his tone is also sarcastic and humorous. For instance, the narrator in the episode 'Castle Duckula: Open to the Public' describes the castle as "a place where the screams of tortured souls can be heard late into the night." The narrator goes on to say that Castle Duckula is not a place for the squeamish and faint-hearted because "the most dreadful thing" was about to take place. It turns out that this "most dreadful thing" was actually Nanny giving Duckula his bath with a huge scrubbing brush.

In the same episode, Duckula wants to open the castle to the public so he can earn some quick money. He describes the castle to Igor as "a beautiful castle to look around" and as "an architectural gem, a place of unique historical interest." He goes on to compare the castle to Versailles, Windsor Castle and the Taj Mahal.

Trivia:
The castle is capable of transporting itself and its occupants to any location on Earth by way of a special coffin (an act which the Count and others generally describe as "flying", though it moves in a manner more similar to teleportation). In order to transport the castle, Duckula enters the coffin and recites a verse describing where he wants to go.  When dawn, "Eastern Transylvanian Standard Time" rolls around, the castle's cuckoo clock sounds its special "return alarm", and the castle automatically returns to its hilltop, leaving behind anyone and anything that is not inside the castle when that time comes.
*In the episode 'Castle Duckula: Open to the Public', it is revealed that the castle has a "central dampening system" (to dampen means making something slightly more wet) instead of a central heating system or dehumidifier.
