Archduck McGanza

He is voiced by David Jason and first appears in the episode "No Sax Please, We're Egyptian!".

Role in episode

Igor is busy educating Count Duckula about his ancestry. Although Duckula doesn't want to hear about "his boring, old ancestors" in the beginning, Igor explains that Archduck McGanza was "far from boring" and that he was a "famous Egyptologist".

Igor describes McGanza's lifelong ambition to find the Great Pyramid and his writings about his many "strange discoveries" there, including a "three-wheeled deck chair". But his strangest and best discovery was that of a great stone altar, which he actually discovered by mistake when he stumbled upon it in the darkness. As soon as McGanza had found the altar, Hoomite, a priest of the sun god Ra and his assistant, Yoobee, who Igor says resembled "the walking dead", greet McGanza. However, Igor promptly concludes the story by saying that "the Archduck knew no more... knew no more than I do where the Mystic Saxophone was hidden."

It is only at this point that Igor clarifies that what McGanza was actually searching for that whole time in the pyramid was the Mystic Saxophone. Duckula is irritated that Igor mentioned the mystic saxophone at the end of his story but Igor mistakenly says that he did mention it at some point. The Crow Brothers, who are secretly overhearing outside, yell to Duckula that Igor never mentioned anything of the sort, but although Duckula answers back, he doesn't suspect anything.
